A Year of Headaches: How not to build a realtime multiplayer game
Follow the development story of a real-time multiplayer game, written in Flutter and server-side Dart, that found nearly every pitfall imaginable during its year of development; including but not limited to: good-for-nothing clocks, elusive determinism, clients and servers that can't agree on ANYTHING, time paradoxes, enough vector math to make your head spin (roughly 10 pi radians worth), and arguably the scariest pitfall of them all – burnout.
